I just returned a few weeks ago from the 2014 Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, which was a great experience and a lot of fun. I returned to Denver with over 10 flats of great material, some of which I’ll be sharing on here, enjoy! An excellent specimen featuring sharp arborescent Native Copper crystals in a very aesthetic tree branch-like arrangement with no matrix from fissure veins in Keweenaw County, Upper Peninsula, Michigan. A very nice older U.P copper with interesting form, green malachite patina, and nice display aesthetics. Mounted on a small acrylic base for display. An increasingly rare American classic!!

An excellent specimen with nice display aesthetics from a relatively recent 2010 find at this Classic German locality. Great coverage, color, an in good condition as seen. PT6: Fluorite: Okorusu Mine, Otjiwarongo Region, Namibia: $275.00
A huge mound of sharp gemmy green Fluorite crystals to 1.6 cm. from the Okorusu Mine, Otjiwarongo district, Namibia. An excellent, very large Okorusu fluorite with great aesthetics, no damage and good transparency of the crystals- much better in person with crystals covering nearly all sides of a large fluorite matrix which sits very nicely for display. Superb and very Aesthetic!! Priced fairly as well I think; compare to similar specimens on the web, even right here on Ebay!

PT7: Microcline Var. Amazonite (Baveno Twinned Crystal): Lake George area, Teller County, Colorado: $200.00 SOLD
An excellent large Baveno-twinned Amazonite microcline crystal an impressive 12 cm. long from Lake George, Teller county, Colorado. Twinned amazonite crystals are uncommon from Colorado, and of those, Baveno-twins are quite unusual- this is a sharp large crystal with two repairs- one is a clean repair to the two halves (Baveno twins typically split naturally along the twin plane), and the other unfortunately is a little more obvious; a portion of the termination- were this crystal unrepaired, it would be worth $500+ easily. As it is, this is still an excellent large twinned amazonite from a classic locale which displays nicely. Rare!!!

Nice ice-blue zoned Fluorite crystals to 5.5 cm. with white barite crystals from Rosiclare, Hardin County, Illinois. A very rare Southern Illinois fluorite color- some damage as seen, but the larger crystal is complete and this is still a great Illinois fluorite from old finds at a reasonable price.  For your consideration is this excellent large cabinet-size specimen of sharp white calcite crystals to almost 3 cm. in radiating ‘pineapple’ arrangements on quartz and calcite matrix from the Idarado Mine, Ouray, Ouray County, Colorado. In great condition with good aesthetics and bright red fluorescence under shortwave U.V light. A very good calcite for the Idarado Mine. A rare Colorado Classic from an older Collection!!

A great plate of octahedral mint-green fluorite crystals on fluorite after quartz epimorphs from the Nancy Hawkes Claim, Unaweep Canyon, Colorado. PT12: Celestine: Portage Quarry, Portage, Wood Co., Ohio, USA: $110.00 SOLD
A BIG, sharp, light blue Celestine crystal from Portage, Wood County, Ohio. An excellent Ohio celestine in fine condition from this classic U.S locality, with  a good termination and great luster. In very good condition for how large it is, with just a few very minor scuffs. A little limestone matrix adheres to one side of the termination, but this does not really detract much in my opinion. PT16: Native Copper: Bisbee, Warren District, Cochise County, Arizona, USA- $350.00

For your consideration is this excellent large group of sharp Native copper crystals to 1.6 x 1.5 cm. from Bisbee, Warren District, Cochise County Arizona. A historic specimen which I was able to acquire in Bisbee this past January. Excellent crystal development, luster, and display aesthetics make this a really great Arizona crystallized copper for the price. As you can see in my Ebay store, I acquired several of these and am trying to pass on the deal I got on these to you. This piece would likely be $1000+ on ‘high end’ dealer websites. A wonderful specimen for the collector of U.S classics or Arizona minerals. Classic!

An excellent large radiating group of sharp, bright blue Azurite crystals to 1.5 cm. from old finds at the Morenci Mine, Greenlee County, Arizona. A superb Azurite ball from Morenci, with no noticeable damage and sharp radiating crystals in an aesthetic arrangement. Some minor tenorite/goethite inclusions as seen on one side, but still displays quite nicely. New from Tucson 2014! A U.S Classic!!Specimen Dimensions: 6.6 x 5 x 4.6 cm. Weight: 175 grams.

 For your consideration is this nice specimens of sharp “jackstraw” Cerussite crystals to 2.5 cm. on limonite matrix from the Flux Mine, Patagonia, Santa Cruz County, Arizona. A rare Classic!

PT19: Barite on quartz: Lushi County, Sanmengxia, Hunan Province, China- $160.00 SOLD
A superb large barite specimen from the ~2004 find in ‘Lushi County’ (some confusion exists as to the exact locality), Sanmenxia Prefecture, Henan Province, China. Sharp, light yellow color-zoned parallel-growth crystals to almost 5 cm. on edge sit on a matrix of drusy quartz and dolomite. Some damage to peripheral areas as you can see, but the main crystals are sharp and undamaged and rise aesthetically from the matrix, making this a superior large specimen for the locality. Better is person, this piece was hard to photograph! This is reminiscent of some of the best ‘Nevada gold mine barites’ from various locales seen in recent years, but the price tag would be a bit higher if it was!Specimen Dimensions: 21 x 9 x 6.5 cm. An excellent small cabinet-size specimen of sharp, large green-yellow Datolite crystals to 4 cm. from Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. A great, reasonably-priced specimen in fine condition from this new find, probably the best of the species outside of Dal’Negorsk, Russia. Big crystals from Charcas! An excellent specimen of velvety green Malachite from Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona. A great old Bisbee specimen (I buy every reasonably priced good Bisbee specimen of my path… :) with great luster, display aesthetics, and cool stalactitic form. Solid malachite with no matrix. Minor damage which does not detract from the display really in my opinion. Classic!

An excellent, sharp gemmy Bastnasite-(Ce) crystal from Zagi Mountain, Hameed Khafour Dheri, Khyber Province, Pakistan. Complete with no visible damage and interesting flattened tabular form, and very gemmy with minimal backlighting as seen. Could yield some small cut stones, but a muvh better crystal in my opinion. A very nice specimen featuring light brown, thorium-free (non-radioactive) Monazite-(Ce) crystals to 9 mm. on a matrix of quartz crystals with minor cassiterite crystals from the Transformadora Vein, Llallgua, Bolivia. These crystals, in addition to being in a geologically-unusual environment for Monazite, show a marked color change when viewed under sunlight or fluorescent/incandescent lighting. Rare!!

A superb large specimen of electric-green Metatorbernite crystals to 8 mm. from the Musonoi Mine, Kolwezi, Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. An excellent cabinet-size Congolese Metatorbernite, with almost no matrix and crystals richly covering multiple large vugs in massive metatorbernite. Displays well from several angles with minimal damage. better in person. Ex. Mineralzone. Measures an impressive 200,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Counter with the Alpha shield on and 44-9 probe. A great cabinet-size specimen featuring sharp, isolated Azurite crystals to 2.6 cm. with great luster and color on limonite gossan matrix with minor Malachite from Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona. This piece is very 3-D and is better than I could capture with my camera; very aesthetic. Ex. Alter Minerals. An increasingly rare Arizona classic at a reasonable price!!

PT32: Alabandite: Merelani Hills, Semanjiro, Manyara Region, Tanzania: $450.00 SOLD
A killer crystal of the rare species Alabandite from a new find in the Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mts., Semanjiro, Manyara Region, Tanzania, better known as the Tanazite locality. Not so long ago, the world’s best Alabandite crystals were found in Peru, and then shortly after, these crystals from Merelani completely blew the Peruvian Alabandite’s out of the water. I acquired these from a geologist who works with the Merelani mines, and picked through 100+ crystals to pull out this and a handful of others- this is probably the best one. No damage, 4.3 x 3.1 cm. size, and very sharp faces make this an exceptional Alabandite. The ‘base’ of the crystal as seen is completely crystallized in a complex skeletal form, with minor graphite and diopside. Mounted on a small beveled lucite base for display. Lesser crystals were sporting $1000+ price tags in Tucson this year. Rare and Exceptional!!

A superb ‘floater’ gem sherry-colored Topaz crystal weighing 16 grams from Cameron Cone, El Paso County, Colorado. A very gemmy crystal from this classic old locality, hand-picked by me out of hundreds of these originally available after the find. Interesting crystal form with no damage and great sherry color. A nice specimen featuring sharp, bright red Wulfenite crystals to 2 cm. on matrix from the Red Cloud Mine, La Paz County, Arizona. Top deep red color, bright luster, and no damage make this an excellent wulfenite from *NEW* finds at the Red Cloud. I was happy to acquire a flat of these in Tucson this year, direct from the source- this specimen is one of the better specimens of the flat. Better in person. PT35: Alabandite: Merelani Hills, Semanjiro Region, Manyara, Tanzania: $115.00 SOLD
An excellent crystal of the rare species Alabandite from a new find in the Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mts., Semanjiro, Manyara Region, Tanzania, better known as the Tanazite locality. Not so long ago, the world’s best Alabandite crystals were found in Peru, and then shortly after, these crystals from Merelani completely blew the Peruvian Alabandite’s out of the water.
