BULKREE1: Bastnasite-(Ce) psuedomorph after Allanite-(Ce): Jefferson County, Colorado USA: $45.00/Kg.

Relatively pure samples up to 20 Kg. of red Bastnasite-(Ce) which has replaced Allanite-(Ce): larger samples have a significant allanite component, but I have a number of smaller (~4-15 cm.) samples which visually do not contain allanite and are suitable for purposes such as extractive metallurgical study, or reference samples of this unusual Rare Earth Element species for your mineral collection. To my knowledge, this psuedomorphism is best exhibited in this pegmatite district, where it has been studied somewhat by Simmons (1980) and others. These are excellent bastnasite samples suitable for a variety of purposes. Discount available for larger (>5 kg.) orders.

BULKREE2: Monazite-(Ce): Petaca District, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico: $60.00/Kg.

Relatively pure samples of Monazite-(Ce), with generally <1% inclusions of Thorite and Xenotime, from pegmatites in Northern New Mexico. Typical specimens range from 1-5 cm. and are cleavage fragments of large crystalline masses. Excellent material for metallurgical/geochemical research, with recent (2011) EDX/XRD analytical data available.

BULKREE3: Pitchblende Uraninite ore: Ascension Mine, Golden Gate Canyon, Golden, Colorado USA: $25.00/Kg.

This is obviously not a rare earth mineral, but I do have ~40 kg. of high-grade pitchblende uranium ore from an older mineral collection available from an unusual Colorado locality. The pitchblende forms black veinlets and coats fault fracture surfaces in a hematite-carbonate breccia as seen, and is rich in U3O8, generally >1.5%. These specimens measure from 20,000-75,000 on my Ludlum Model 3 Scintillator with the 44-9 probe and alpha shield on.

BULKREE4: Thorite-(Fe) and minor ‘Cyrtolite’ Zirzon and biotite: South Platte Pegmatite District, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA: $80.00/Kg.

I have a limited quantity available of relatively pure samples of Thorite-(Fe) with minor waxy brown REE and Hf-bearing zircon and biotite from the South Platte Pegmatite District in Colorado. Rare to find thorite in macroscopic (these range from 1-8 cm. across), relatively pure samples. Very radioactive, so care must be exercised shipping these.

BULKREE5: Fluocerite-(Ce): South Platte Pegmatite District, Jefferson County, Colorado USA. $110.00/Kg.

I have a limited quantity available of pure fragment and crude crystals of the REE fluoride species Fluocerite-(Ce) from the South Platte Pegmatite District, Colorado. These are quite ‘fresh’ for the species, with only very thin (<1 mm.) bastnasite-(Ce) surface alteration, and no other mineral impurities. This is excellent material for investigating the behavior of trivalent REE when complexed with F-, a common REE transport ligand and an important mechanism in researching REE geochemistry and extractive metallurgy of more unusual REE phases. Crystals in matrix also available for reference/collector purposes.

BULKREE6: Euxenite-(Y): Platt Pegmatite, Encampment, Wyoming USA: $100/Kg.

Pure samples of lustrous black Euxenite-(Y), a complex REE mutiple oxide species, from an unusual Wyoming pegmatite known for the species. Small, solid samples from .5-3 cm. each. I only have ~2.5 Kg. total of this material! Has been analyzed as unusually rich in tantalum, and may trend towards yttrotantalite.

BULKREE7: Bastnasite-(Y), Allanite-(Ce), and Xenotime-(Y) in yttrium-rich Fluorite: Snowflake Pegmatite, Teller County, Colorado USA: $45.00/Kg.

Samples of very rich REE ore, LREE-dominant but with significant Y and Yb and well, with Bastnasite-(Y)/Synchysite-(Y) being the dominant REE-bearing phase. Samples from 3-17 cm. across, all showing very rich REE mineral distribution as seen in this representative photo. Excellent sample of a very complex mineral assemblage.

BULKREE8: Columbite-(Mn) with minor ‘Cyrtolite’ Zircon & Parsonsite: Eight Mile Park Pegmatite District, Fremont County, Colorado USA: $50.00/Kg.

Large, mostly pure samples of Mn-dominant Columbite, with ~56% Nb and 11-19% Ta, with minor yellow films of the uranium phosphate species Parsonsite, and REE-bearing zircon, from this classic and unusual Colorado pegmatite District. Detailed ICP-MS analytical data available with purchase.

2014BULKREE9: Thalenite-(Y) with minor ytrrofluorite, allanite, gadolinite, & thorite: White Cloud Pegmatite, South Platte District, Jefferson County, Colorado. $85.00/Kg.

Exceptionally rich specimens of the very rare yttrium silicate species Thalenite-(Y), with minor yttrofluorite, allanite, thorite, and gadolinite. This material has a bulk composition of over 22% Y! Most specimens have been cut on at least one side. Very rare!!!

2014BULKREE10: Gadolinite-(Y) with minor Bastnasite-(Y) in yttrofluorite: White Cloud Pegmatite, South Platte District, Colorado, USA: $50.00/Kg.

Very nice, rich samples of the unusual yttrium beryllium silicate Gadolinite-(Y), enclosed in violet yttrium-rich fluorite, with minor Bastnasite-(Y) alteration, from the South Platte Pegmatite District of Colorado. Specimens from 3-15 cm., many have been cut on at least one side. Rare old material and excellent for study.
