This is a choice “toenail” size group of lustrous, sharp, dark-red crystals of the desirable “ruby silver” species pyrargyrite from the major 2006 pocket at the Judas Shaft, Fresnillo, Mexico. Fresnillo has produced some of the world’s finest examples of this species, but good specimens have never been common. This superb example features sharp prisms to nearly 2 cm in an aesthetic cluster, in great condition. Laszlo Kupi photo. Rare!
