Large, rich specimen of Uraninite, Carnotite, and Tyuyamunite bearing, very high-grade Uranium ore from the Ambrosia Lake Uranium District near Grants, New Mexico. This would have been mined in the 1960’s or 70’s and most ore this rich went right to the mill. Measures ~100,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Counter with the 44-9 ‘pancake’ probe. Ex. New Mexico Mineral Museum. Rare!!
