Size: 9.5 x 8 x 6 cm.

Superb group of sharp, highly-lustrous octahedral magnetite crystals from the major find in early 2024 at the Huanggang mines in Inner Mongolia, China, which probably yielded the world’s finest magnetite crystals. Very few specimens of this quality were found, with razor-sharp crystals, bright luster, and great aesthetics. Several small peripheral dings do not distract from the outstanding quality of this magnetite specimen. For this species, all one can really say is “wow!” Mark Cross photo.
