So-called “campylite” (a botryoidal variety of mimetite) specimens from Northern England’s Caldbeck Fells Mining District have been considered British mineral classics for over two hundred years. This is a fine cabinet-size specimen from an old collection, featuring lustrous burnt-orange spheres and masses of campylite on white baryte and quartz matrix. A fine old-time British mineral classic in good condition. Mark Cross photo.
