(538 g.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fine large specimen of blocky orthorhombic crystals of the unusual REE mineral aeschynite-(Y) from what is probably the world&#8217;s best locality for this mineral, the Molland pegmatites in southern Norway&#8217;s famous Iveland District. Good specimens of this rare mineral are quite uncommon these days, and this fine and sizable example features well-formed crystals. It is from the personal collection of Knut Molland, the quarry owner and discoverer, who collected hundreds of superb aeschynite-(Y) specimens back in the 1960&#8217;s, 70&#8217;s and 80&#8217;s on his property. Measures ~50,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Counter with the 44-9 probe.
