Rubellite Tourmaline (Elbaite), Smoky Quartz

Gorgeous, very aesthetic specimen featuring a very large, deep-red gemmy rubellite tourmaline crystal perched on a smoky quartz crystal matrix studded with small red tourmalines from the famous Barra do Salinas locality in Brazil. Fantastic aesthetics, great color, and good transparency make this a very nice Brazilian tourmaline from older finds. One repair (around the middle of the tourmaline crystal) has been professionally done in a mineral lab and are invisible to the naked eye.
