Description
Species: Calcite with Malachite inclusions
Locality: 100′ Level, Holbrook mine, Bisbee, Warren District, Cochise county, Arizona USA
Dimensions: 7.5 x 6.6 x 6 cm.
This is a very nice and colorful calcite cave helectite from the well-known Holbrook Mine in the famous Bisbee District. Very glassy, translucent, intergrown calcite rhombs have great form and are beautifully colored by malachite inclusions. Individual sharp end rhombs reach 1.2 cm and the piece is highlighted by the surreal curved “stalk” with an attachment at the end and by the otherworldly complete loop at the base accented with the large rhombs. The piece has a nice provenance having been in the reference collection of the ultimate Bisbee specialists – the Graeme Family. Looks great on its custom acrylic display base. Ex.
