A true rarity, this is an excellent large modified cubic uraninite crystal starting to alter to colorful secondary uranium minerals (“gummite”) from the classic Uluguru Mountains pegmatite district, Morogoro Region, Tanzania. A great example of this classic rarity, from the noted collection of Jean Behier, with his label. From an old European collection. Measures over 160,000 CPM on my Ludlum model 3 counter with the 44-9 probe. Rare!
