It’s a tossup whether azurite from Mexico’s Milpillas mine or Namibia’s Tsumeb mine is the world’s finest, but most collectors will tell you it’s largely a matter of opinion. This exceptional large cabinet-size group of midnight-blue azurite crystals from Tsumeb exhibits several “classic” characteristics for this famous mine: midnight blue color, bright luster, and an unusual morphology not often seen at other azurite localities. While there are a few small nicks here and there, overall the condition of this large and very showy specimen is quite good, and I would challenge you to find a bigger, better Tsumeb azurite for the price. A custom display base by Sunnywood is just what this gorgeous Tsumeb classic needs to shine. Mark Cross photo.
