This is a fine large cabinet-size group of lustrous, midnight-blue azurite crystals to ~4.5 cm on matrix from the iconic Tsumeb mine in Tsumeb, Namibia. Good cabinet-size Tsumeb azurites have become scarce in recent years on the market, and this is a fine showy example featuring numerous lustrous, well-formed crystals on contrasting white matrix. From the noted collection of Lance T. Hampel of Germantown Wisconsin, who then donated it to the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum, from whom I acquire it in trade last year. A true classic!
