For your consideration is this superb large, showy group of lustrous clear calcite crystals with minor pyrite and marcasite from the Blackstone mine, Shullsburg, Upper Mississippi Valley District, Lafayette County, Wisconsin USA.

Large, 3-dimensional, showy, and complete all-around, this is the best Shullsburg calcite I have seen in a while. A great classic from this old mining district, rarely seen in this quality today. This is from an old Midwest collection. Classic!! Mark Cross photo.
