Species: Dolomite, Quartz, Calcite var. Manganoan
Locality: Trepča complex, Trepča valley, Mitrovica, Mitrovica District, Kosovo
Dimensions: 22 x 15 x 8.5 cm.
The famous Trepca Mining District, a world-class locality for numerous sulfide and gangue minerals, has recently started producing fine specimens again. This is a choice large mound of very typical lemon-yellow rhombohedral dolomite and bladed white to pink manganocalcite crystals, in fine condition and interspersed with clear quartz points. A classic association for Trepca, and in great condition considering the large size of this showy piece. Mark Cross photo.
