Description
Species: Native Copper
Locality: Chino mine, Bayard, Grant County, New Mexico USA
Dimensions: 10 x 2 x 2 cm.
This is an excellent “stalk” of very sharp, complex native copper crystals showing unusual habits for the locality, which is the famous Chino copper mine in southern New Mexico. Chino is better-known for spinel twinned copper crystals, whereas these sharp, intricate crystals show tetrahexahedral forms primarily. A wonderful cabinet-size copper for this famous mine, which displays great from any orientation! Ex. Tom Rosemeyer native copper suite. Mark Cross photo.
