Locality: Lake Superior Copper District, Houghton County, Michigan, USA

This is a superb group of sharp cubic copper crystals (the rarest crystal form in Michigan copper) from the Keweenawn Peninsula of Michigan. The crystals are up to over 1 cm. and show very well-developed cubic crystal form and an attractive black to red cuprite and tenorite patina. Good cubic coppers from the Michigan Copper Country are NOT common and this is a great one from the Ben Vone collection. Classic!! Mark Cross photo.
