Description
Species: Native Copper
Locality: Northwestern mine, Keweenaw County, Michigan, USA
Size: 11 x 4.5 x 2.7 cm.
A superb large group of parallel-growth copper crystals showing a combination of sharp stacked cubic and modified dodecahedral copper crystals. This is an exceptional copper for this relatively obscure mine, which produced numerous fine copper specimens for a brief period around ten years ago, when local collectors discovered a “cache” of crystallized copper specimens while metal detecting the dumps. This specimen was collected in October of 2016 by Ray Just. Comes with a custom acrylic display base. Mark Cross photo. Classic!
