The Vetas Gold Mining District in Colombia’s Santander Province hosts rich veins of epithermal-style gold mineralization which, in recent years, have produced rare specimens of very attractive, leafy, crystallized gold on matrix. This is a great example of this small find from the La Tosca mine, with lustrous, buttery-yellow gold crystals and leaves on quartz matrix. A good, aesthetic example of this unusual find, which displays well from multiple angles. Ex. Raul Sanabria collection. Mark Cross photo.
