Beautifulspecimen from a small new find of brilliant green gemmy (not dehydrated) torbernite crystals associated with superb micro-crystals of parsonsite, the rare lead uranium phosphate mineral, and possible dewindtite (awaiting analytical results on this). Parsonsite is found at numerous uranium deposits around the world, but seldomly in high-quality crystals. This find is possibly the “best-of-species” for this gorgeous uranium mineral! The aesthetic beauty of these specimens under the microscope or loupe cannot be overstated… my low-quality photomicrographs don’t do these pieces justice. High-quality uranium minerals from China are not common at all and this is a really neat new find! Measures ~25,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Counter with the 44-9 prove. Rare!
