The Kedon district is a classic Russian locality for aesthetic, rich purple amethyst crystals, which started showing up in the west shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s. This is a gorgeous and very aesthetic miniature featuring a perfect ~2.2 cm amethyst crystal isolated on contrasting matrix. Just a really pretty mineral specimen. Ex. Herb Gregor collection.
