A gorgeous specimen of extremely lustrous, chatoyant “kelly blue” smithsonite spheres on gossan matrix from the famous Kelly mine in New Mexico. Some of my favorite “Kelly smithsonites” are those associated with this kind of almost “wet” chatoyant luster, and this fine miniature has good color as well as unusually well-defined smithsonite botryoids.
