This is a beautiful lustrous shockingly RED sphalerite from a brand-new find at a small lead-zinc-gold mine in Jiangxi Province, China. We were lucky to obtain some of the best of this small pocket, and snatched them up as these have some of the best color I have seen in sphalerite from anywhere in the world in many years. Bright luster, 3-dimensional form, and small associated galena crystals make this a top small cabinet-size example from this find. Beautiful! Mark Cross photo.
