Species: Uraninite, Torbernite, “Gummite”
Locality: Mi Vida Mine (?), Lisbon Valley Mining District, San Juan County, Utah, USA

Nearly solid specimen of waxy black pitchblende with very minor chalcocite and some secondary uranium minerals from the Moab area of Utah (possibly the Mi Vida mine). This is material collected 50+ years ago by famous northwest USA mineralogist Bart Cannon. Specimens of this material that are this rich are quite tough to find these days! Super super hot rock! Measures ~250,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Counter with the 44-9 probe. Rare!
