This is a spectacular large specimen of extremely high-grade uranium ore from a classic and remote Canadian locality, Port Radium. What makes it special, though, is a 1 cm. vein of beautiful dendritic silver crystals in calcite cutting across the pitchblende and hematite ore. Just an awesome ore specimen and very unique! This kind of material is all in uranium fuel rods or museum collections at this point, and is just not obtainable. Great ore textures and displays beautifully on the cut face. Measures over 250,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Counter with the 44-9 probe, impressive! An amazing uranium and silver ore specimen!
