La Morita! Truly the most exciting mineral find from Mexico of the past 20 years besides Milpillas in my opinion. This is a luscious plate of highly-lustrous, thick vibrant orange wulfenite crystals to 2.5 cm completely covering a barite matrix. The crystals are sturdy and thick, almost reminiscent (except for the habit) of top Los Lamentos wulfenite, and the piece is in fine condition. This superb wulfenite is from the 3rd major pocket encountered at the La Morita Mine in July/August of 2019. A fine and aesthetic example of a ‘future classic’ for Mexico. Annette Slade photo.
