Portugal’s Panasqueira mines are known for their world-class crystals of colorful fluorapatite, often associated with ferberite, quartz, fluorite, siderite, and arsenopyrite. This is a beautiful large, showy, lustrous plate of classic green fluorapatite crystals to 1.5 cm totally covering a thin siderite matrix. The apatite crystals have great luster, good green color, and are in fine condition. A great example of these classic and sought-after apatites from Panasqueira. Mark Cross photo.
