Eudialyte, the unusual rare earth element-bearing zirconosilicate mineral, was first discovered in Greenland’s Kangerluarsuk Fjord in the famous Ilimaussaq Complex in the 19th century. Crystals of this species have always been rare, especially from the type locality, and this superb specimen features a large, well-formed 2.5 cm. crystal in matrix with good form and vivid cherry-red color. A great example of a rarity from old finds. Mark Cross photo.
