The Phoenix mine, arguably the most iconic and prolific producer of fine specimens in the northern part of Michigan’s famous Keweenaw Peninsula, has produced, in addition to world-class copper and silver specimens, the finest analcime specimens from the Copper Country. This superb example features glassy, lustrous analcime crystals to 1.6 cm with bright inclusions of native copper, on minor basalt matrix. This fine specimen has a wonderful provanance as well, retaining an original label from legendary mineral dealer and collector Lazard Cahn (1865-1940), as well as a label from the private collection of well-known dealer Herb Obodda. Finally, the specimen comes with a custom engraved acrylic base by The Arkenstone. A wonderful Michigan analcime specimen of great quality for the species, with a detailed and rich provenance.
