Ex. Harold Arndt, Bill Severance Collections.

A truly fantastic Bisbee specimen featuring very lustrous midnight-blue azurite “roses” on contrasting green malachite matrix. The aesthetics and quality of this classic specimen are superb, and the provenance is great too- Ex. Bill Severance collection, who acquired it from the collection of Harold Arndt, the curator of the legendary Vaux mineral collection at Brywn Mawr University in Philadelphia. It is likely that Arndt collected this while on a field trip to Bisbee with the legendary Harvard mineralogist Charles Palache in 1934! Great luster on the azurite, and beautiful contrast with the vivid green malachite. Mark Cross photo.
