Description
Species: Bournonite
Locality: Yaogangxian mine, Yizhang Co., Hunan Province, China
Dimensions: 4 x 4 x 2.3 cm.
China’s Yaogangxian mine, famous for it’s amazingly colorful fluorites, has also produced what many connoisseurs consider to be the world’s finest bournonite crystals. Now considered Chinese classics, these bournonites have not been found in nearly 20 years and are scarce on the modern specimen marketplace. This is a great example, consisting of a lustrous, sharp, complex single prismatic crystal. The crystal is in fine condition and is completely-crystallized on the back as well. A great example of a scarce Chinese mineral classic. Mark Cross photo.
