Description

Species: Brucite

Locality: Wood’s Chrome Mine, Texas, Little Britain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA

Size: 14 x 13 x 3.8 cm.

The Wood’s Chrome mine, located in Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania, is the classic locality for brucite crystals, and good examples are eagerly sought by advanced collectors. This is a superb large example featuring BIG crystals to 7 cm (!) showing good form and a nice translucent gray-green color. This fine old classic has a great provenance too, with labels from the collections of the Sorbonne Museum (Paris), Dr. Mark Feinglos (USA), Carter Rich (USA), and Fred Parker Jr. (USA). A choice classic with a great history! Stands up nicely on its own for display. Mark Cross photo.
