Nice, rich specimen of coffinite ore, from this remote and less common Utah locality. The coffinite forms coal-like horizontal bands in bedded sandstone matrix, with minor uraninite. Quite “hot” at over 100,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Survey Meter with the 44-9 probe (alpha shield on). Ex. University of Texas El Paso Geology Department Collection.
