This is a striking cabinet-size example of one of my favorites “styles” of Tsumeb dioptase- chunky white rhombohedral calcite crystals epitaxially-overgrown by small, vibrant blue-green dioptase crystals. This type of oriented dioptase overgrowth on calcite crystals is so distinctive and unique to Tsumeb, and good examples of this find have become uncommon and prized by collectors. This fine large example has great contrast, is in good condition, and displays great on it’s custom acrylic display base. Minor green duftite helps accent the dioptase and white calcite. Ex.
