Description

Species: Elbaite Tourmaline, Quartz var. Smoky

Locality: Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan

Size: 8.5 x 9 x 3.8 cm.

A beautiful combination of doubly-terminated smoky quartz crystals with a gemmy color-zoned tourmaline crystal showing an unusual blue to almost purple color gradation, from the famous Paprok district in the Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan. The aesthetics of the tourmaline (whose main upper segment measures ~4.5 x 3 cm.) with the smoky quartz crystals is very aesthetic. One clean repair to the tourmaline that is not visible from the front. This specimen comes with a custom sunnywood display base. A bargain for the aesthetics and size in my opinion! Mark Cross photo.
