Colorado’s Crystal Lode pegmatite, located in a beautiful area south of Eagle near the ghost town of Fulford, has been known for it’s excellent gemmy green-yellow fluorapatite crystals from over 75 years. Last summer, a fantastic find was made which yielded the best crystals ever from this classic locality. As large as nearly 10 cm(!) and with gemmy interiors, complex beveled terminations, and good luster, these are some of the best apatite crystals from the United States. This is a choice crystal from the 2021 find, measuring over 5 cm. and with a fine modified termination. In good condition. Mark Cross photo.
