So-called “optical” fluorite crystals from far eastern Russia’s Dalnegorsk District have been famous for years among collectors, though few great ones seem to be on the market today compared to in previous decades. This very showy, 3-dimensional small cabinet piece features totally-transparent, gemmy clear fluorite crystals to ~1.7 cm showing a complex morphology (trisocthedral?) on quartz and minor calcite matrix, from the noted Nikoleavskiy mine. Classic!! Annette Slade photo.
