Galena specimens from the iconic Tri-State Mining district in the Midwestern United States grace museum and private collections around the world, and are known for their diversity of forms and often fine aesthetic qualities. This is a superb example, a large complete ‘floater’ galena crystal with great bright luster (atypical for Tri-State galena) and the wondefully-complex octahedral modifications that are so distinctive of many of the best Tri-State galena specimens. The specimen is is superb condition and really displays great from any angle. This was part of my 2019 Denver Mineral Show exhibit which earned a mention in the Mineralogical Record magazine.
