England’s Herodsfoot mine is best-known for it’s world-class bournonite specimens, but has also produced aesthetic and high-quality examples of crystallized galena, tetrahedrite, and chalcopyrite, such as this classic specimen showing all three species in fine, showy crystals on quartz matrix. The iridescent chalcopyrite coating on the tetrahedrite and galena crystals really sets this piece off, and this fine old classic can be displayed from numerous angles. A real old-time British mineral classic. Annette Slade photo.
