This is an excellent, sculptural, aesthetic group of twinned tetrahexahedral copper crystals from the iconic Lake Superior Copper District in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. Featuring a rich cuprite-tenorite patina and good luster, this is a fine copper from this famous and classic American mining district. The crystals are large (up to ~4 cm) and show the classic flattened, distorted, complex twinned morphology which many of the finest Michigan coppers exhibit. Annette Slade photo.
