Portugal’s Panasqueira mines are known for their world-class crystals of colorful fluorapatite, often associated with ferberite, quartz, fluorite, siderite, and arsenopyrite. This aesthetic specimen consists of a large cabinet-size plate of well-formed pyrite crystals showing interesting forms associated with good crystals of green fluorapatite, including a sharp gemmy 2.5 cm crystal in particular, and several clear, sharp quartz crystals. A great association piece and a very good pyrite for this locality where good example of the species are definitely NOT common. Mark Cross photo.
