North Carolina’s Hiddenite area is famous around the world as the source of the finest emerald crystals from North America as well as the “type locality” for the green gem variety of spodumene, named hiddenite William Hidden, it’s discoverer. Good hiddenite crystals from this classic old locality have never been common and are eagerly-sought by collectors and museums. This is a wonderful thumbnail-size gem hiddenite crystal with good color and form, and it complete all-around. It exhibits beautiful etched form and good luster as well.
