Description
Species: Topaz
Locality: Sakangyi Pegmatite, Mogok, Mandalay region, Myanmar
Size: 9.5 x 4.5 x 4.3 cm., 344 grams
An absolutely-gorgeous and quite large gem topaz crystal with a beautiful pale champagne color and unusual (for the find) very slightly frosted faces (actually adds a nice aesthetic element) from what many connoisseurs consider the best topaz pocket ever, discovered at the Sakangyi mines near Mogok, Myanmar around a decade ago. Exhibits the mesmerizing clarity and complex morphology these topaz crystals are famous for. These have become very hard to get these days, and sadly the current situation in Myanmar means we are unlikely to see these again anytime soon. Comes with a custom acrylic display base. Mark Cross photo.
