Solid, dense specimen of black uraninite with a thick rind of colorful yellow secondary uranium minerals from this classic and very uncommon Colorado locality. Cut on one side for display. Ex. Minresco with label and provenance info. Super HOT… measures over 280,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Counter with the 44-9 probe. This is a superb large example of this very rare and sought after material and one of the best I have personally seen for the locality. Rare!
