A very interesting and very hot specimen of near-solid black pitchblende with numerous colorful secondary exotic uranium minerals including rutherfordine, ianthinite (?), torbernite, and saleeite. Measures over 250,000 CPM (!) on my Ludlum Model 3 Geiger Counter with the 44-9 probe. HOT! Has a neat handwritten label from Vince Mason, former curator of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Rare material, this remote mine has been closed for many years. From the noted collection of Jack Nieburger.
