Large, colorful, rich specimen of bright yellow uranophane with ‘daylight fluorescent” hyalite opal on pegmatite matrix from the famous Chalk Mountain quarry in western North Carolina. The color combination is striking in both daylight and UV light. A very good specimen for this classic locality. Measures ~75,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3 Counter with thed 44-9 probe. Rare!
