Description
Species: Beryl var. Aquamarine
Locality: Shigar Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan Region, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Dimensions; 6.5 x 2 x 1.9 cm.
Pakistan’s Shigar Valley has produced some of the world’s finest aquamarine crystals, which have been sought by collectors, museums, and gem cutters for over 30 years. This is a very nice cluster of lustrous, glassy, “windex-blue” aquamarine beryl crystals from older finds. Great color, transparency, and form makes this an excellent Pakistani aquamarine crystal group, from older finds. The aquamarine crystals, up to 6.5 cm tall, form a parallel-growth grouping which is quite aesthetic. Mounted on a small lucite base for display (could easily be removed). Ex. A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum collection. Annette Slade photo.
