This is a wonderfully-aesthetic specimen of lustrous, midnight-blue azurite crystals to nearly 1 cm on malachite matrix from the Cole mine in the iconic Bisbee District, Cochise County, Arizona USA. Mined by miner Stan Werwara in July of 1964, this fine ‘old-timer’ has a great provenance. The contrast between the azurite and malachite in wonderful, and this combination is quite sought-after from Bisbee. A true “Arizona mineral classic.” Annette Slade photo.
