A gorgeous combination of well-defined “kelly blue” smithsonite crystals on greenish-blue aurichalcite matrix from the famous Kelly mine in New Mexico. Some of my favorite “Kelly smithsonites” are those associated with aurichalcite, and this fine large cabinet-size example has fantastic color as well as unusually well-defined smithsonite crystals, not just a botryoidal form. Ex. John R. Nelson and “Shorty” Withers collections. Annette Slade photo. Classic!
