Portugal’s Panasqueira mines are known for their world-class crystals of colorful fluorapatite, often associated with ferberite, quartz, fluorite, siderite, and arsenopyrite. This is a beautiful large, showy, lustrous plate of classic green fluorapatite crystals to 1 cm sprinkled on a very aesthetic matrix of iridescent multi-color arsenopyrite and minor siderite. The apatite crystals have great luster, good green color, and are in fine condition. A great example of these classic and sought-after apatites from Panasqueira, on a very unique and interesting matrix. Mark Cross photo.
