Portugal’s Panasqueira mines are known for their world-class crystals of colorful fluorapatite, often associated with ferberite, quartz, fluorite, siderite, and arsenopyrite. This is a beautiful example featuring a gemmy, sharp, color-zoned ~3.5 cm apatite crystal on an aesthetic “floater” matrix of arsenopyrite and siderite crystals. Great balance and aesthetics on this classic miniature. Mark Cross photo.
